Easter Sunday

There have been many prayer services at the Chapel of the Holy Spirit since Bishop Allen H. Vigneron blessed and dedicated the Chapel. On Easter Sunday April 12, 2009 the very first Mass took place. Father Stephan Kappler was the celebrant of the Mass. Deacon Dave was the deacon of the mass. The Mass was attended by family and friends who were invited to the annual Easter Dinner. The Dinner followed the Mass.

Deacon Dave was overjoyed that the first Mass took place on the celebration of the Resurrection of the Lord. “A day we offer joyful sacrifice of praise to the Father who raised his Son from the dead”. The Mass intentions were for Deacon’s Father, Charles Rezendes, His maternal grandmother Clara (Nana) Gomes, great aunts and uncles (Clara’s sisters and brothers) Emily, Rose, Mary, Anthony (Shep), Manuel (chick) and Joseph (Rose’s twin).

After the Mass the Bells of the Chapel rang out in three tones marking this significant day in the life of a Christian (Easter Sunday) and significant in that the first Mass was completed. The following photo’s are of the first Mass on Easter Sunday.
